A few months ago, I heard that a former boss of mine was releasing a book that she had written called “The Hummingbird Way.” She has not been my boss for many years now. However, I’ll let you in on a little secret. She was one of my favorite bosses that I have had in my professional career. Finding out that she is now a life coach and through reading this book, I understand why. She has a way of inspiring through visual cue descriptions and communicating from her heart.
Sherri Gerek lives on Montana’s Flathead River area near Glacier National Park. Her backyard is the natural beauty of mountains, northern lights, deer, eagles, turkeys, hawks and the delicate hummingbird. Sounds like a travel and nature lover’s dream, doesn’t it? Nature plays a key role in her coaching and, thus, the focus of the book, “Hummingbird Way,” as well as her professional and personal coaching platform.
“The Hummingbird Way” is divided into 22 chapters full of thoughtful insight. From chapter one of “Have Confidence in Your Ability to Fly” to chapter 22, “Learn to Let Go,” it’s put together in a way that once you read it, you can use it as a resource to return to for further reflection. She provides follow-up questions at the end of each chapter in order to make it personal to you.
Sherri eloquently intertwines the ways of the Hummingbird, personal stories from her own life, and calls to action for the reader. These make for an effective personal guide for personal development and growth. Through reading the book, I felt like Sherri was talking straight to me. There were a few times where the chapters resonated, kicked me in the gut, and motivated me more to make some changes.
I highly recommend this book to add to your library. I was provided my own autographed copy for the purpose of review. She has provided me with another autographed copy for one of our fans!
