Minot’s Sleep Inn offers more than a great room; Swimming and shopping abound
We’ve stayed at some nice hotels during our trips, but Minot’s Sleep Inn and Suites has to rank among the best. The hotel, which is also a convention center, has been the host hotel for the annual Norsk Hostfest (Scandinavian heritage festival).
As we checked in, I noticed an antique car sitting in the lobby. The front desk clerk said the owner loves the car. It was a neat addition to the lobby.
The hotel is home to a 2,500-square foot indoor water park featuring a giant water slide. An adult-sized swimming pool is located in the park. A 48-person hot tub is also available. An arcade is located next to the water park.
The Minot Sleep Inn and Suites is connected to the Dakota Square Mall. The enclosed mall is impressive. We checked it out while we were trying to get in the remainder of our daily step goal. The mall has about 70 stores. It’s the largest mall in central North Dakota.
We visited a few stores. My favorite was Scheel’s. The North Dakota-based sports equipment and apparel store is one of my favorite stores. I had to check out their University of North Dakota apparel and the hockey equipment.
Once we settled in for the night, we enjoyed our accommodations very much. Our room was perfect. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. I have said lots of times that work stations are important to me as I edit photos during our trips. The work station was excellent. Our room had plenty of outlets for us to use to charge camera batteries, phones and use our laptops.
The hotel has an excellent complimentary hot breakfast buffet. The scrambled eggs were warm. Guests had a choice of sausage or bacon, as well as other goodies. The breakfast area also offered toast, bagels, cereal, fruits, and more.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Minot Sleep Inn and suites. We recommend staying there when in the area.
