The Conrad Hotel offers a grand experience in Indianapolis

Hilton
The Conrad stands tall among the downtown buildings.

Conrad Hilton started his hotel company with a single property in 1919. Today, the hotel chain has 570 locations six continents. The Conrad Indianapolis lives up to the high standards established by its namesake.

The upscale hotel is located in downtown Indianapolis, a short walk from attractions, including the state capitol, White River State Park, Lucas Oil Stadium and Monument Circle. Several restaurants – upscale and more moderate – are within a few feet of the hotel.

Beautiful chandelier.

The first thing we noticed as we walked into the lobby was the beautiful Chihuly chandelier. The lobby has plentiful art to view.

Once we checked in, we were quite impressed with our room. It was spacious. A comfortable sofa allowed us an opportunity to sit and put our feet up after a busy day of walking the city’s downtown area and Canal Walk.

Our room was spacious.

As most people know, I love large desks that allow me to spread out my work equipment – laptop, external drive, camera and other items. Trips for us are more than just taking in the sights; we need to upload and edit photos, as well as jot down notes from the day’s activities. So, when I find a hotel with a great work station set-up, I’m in heaven. It also helps when the location has a great outlet situation to charge batteries, phones and portable chargers.

I must admit I feel like a hick some days when we stay at upscale hotels. Growing up in a very middle class environment, we used to stay in motels, etc., when we traveled. So, it’s always stayed with me that I’m like a small town boy seeing the big city for the first time.

A bath tub and a shower.

So, the bathroom. Man, oh man, what a room. A separate bath tub AND shower. A telephone is located nearby. The bonus was a television attached to the wall. Nothing beats watching TV while you shave.

The bathroom features a TV.

The Conrad offers nightly turndown service. A chocolate is placed on the guest’s pillow, along with a bottled water and glass on the night stand. Ah, a person could get used to this.

The Conrad offers amenities including a fitness center and fine art gallery. Guests can also purchase spa packages.

We enjoyed our stay at The Conrad Indianapolis. The quality of the property made it difficult to leave at checkout time. I could have begged for some more time there. We definitely recommend visiting the hotel when in Indianapolis. The location is perfect for touring the city. The service was outstanding.
