Courtyard by Marriott offers comfy stay close to Wichita Old Town attractions

The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Wichita’s Old Town district is an excellent location and stay. It’s a few steps from the retail and entertainment district.

The hotel rests on the spot of an old warehouse. The hotel documents the progress of renovating the site through a series of photos near the lobby.

We hadn’t stayed at a Courtyard until this trip, but truly enjoyed ourselves. We checked in late – about 11 p.m. – following a day of sightseeing in Kansas’ largest city.

Our room was very nice. We had a king-sized bed. The work station was well laid out. The work station was roomy. The chair was quite comfortable. I upload photos every night during trips due to a family mishap during our Alaska trip a few years ago. Our youngest daughter’s memory card became corrupted overnight. It wasn’t a good experience. The free internet service is outstanding.

The room had a chair and ottoman in one corner, so it was a nice room to relax in.

As we checked in, the lobby proved to be inviting. People were watching a late football game. A big screen TV, sofa and comfortable chairs are located near the entrance. It looked inviting, but we were beat by this time.

The check-in area is different than your standard hotel. Instead of one large counter, the Courtyard has a couple of check-in stands. The staff was professional and friendly.

Following a very restful night, we explored the hotel.

The restaurant area is located in the lower level. They have a breakfast buffet available daily, but it’s extra from the room cost.

A waterfall is located in the lower level. At the top of the water feature is a clock on the fifth floor.

A Starbucks (yes, please!) is located on site. We grabbed a couple drinks and split a muffin. We enjoyed our coffee while reading the local newspaper.

The hotel has a fitness center on site, as well as airport shuttle service. The hotel also has meeting space available.

Please ensure you check out parking when checking in. the hotel has onsite parking available for a mall fee. They also offer free parking, but it isn’t onsite.

We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard and would recommend it for visits. We really liked that it’s located in Old Town and is so close to the Old Town businesses.
