We stayed in a suite. The living room was separated from the bedroom, but the suite is open, so there were no real walls between the rooms. The living room had a comfy sofa, microwave and refrigerator.
The work desk was well-positioned and comfortable to work at. The desk chair was comfortable. You can adjust it for the perfect height. Also, I love it when you can choose for it to lean back or not. I prefer a chair to lean back, so when I need a break from uploading the gazillion photos I shot during the day I can.
The big screen TV also helped making work at the desk a bit more enjoyable. LOL.
The hotel offers free WiFi service for the internet. They also offer an enhanced WiFi service for a small daily fee. I prefer hotels offer WiFi free regardless. If they need to add a couple dollars to the room night fee, I’d rather they do that.
The bedroom was decent sized. The king bed was quite comfortable. I had an excellent night’s sleep. You always worry about the bed’s comfort when traveling, but at a property such as this, that tends not to be an issue.
Grand Island has a lot trains come through town – about 140 daily. They travel through at any time of the day. Lisa and I remember listening to train engines sound their horns in the distance a little before bedtime. However, once you settle in for the night, you tend to zone them out. I don’t see that as an issue. To me, it was a little white noise and helped me go to sleep.
Breakfast at the hotel was outstanding. They have a buffet, offering warm and cold choices. There are a lot of healthy choices, as well.
The lobby was clean and welcoming. Guests can enjoy a beverage in the area in front of a fireplace. Very nice.
The Fairfield offers a small business center, with a couple of desktop computers. It is away from the main traffic area, so people can feel free to work there or surf the internet.
The hotel also has a pool and fitness center. We were not able to take advantage of them on this trip.
The Fairfield Inn and Suites is located in an excellent spot in Grand Island. We recommend staying at the hotel when in Grand Island.
