Omaha Love’s Local Food and Drink Bingo
We love our community and want to see it continue to grow and prosper. We enjoy each opportunity to promote what we have in Omaha. In fact, we have two books featuring the great things to see, eat and do in Omaha. With great chefs, as well as a dining scene that encompasses almost nearly every type of cuisine you can find across the planet, it’s hard not to find something for every palate. Omaha has become a foodie destination, with eateries such as Yoshitomo, Dante, Modern Love and Au Courant offering amazing dishes.
We know our local restaurants and bars have been hit hard by the pandemic. The community has done an impressive job of supporting them during this challenging time. However, we know that there is still a great need to do more to help our local businesses.
We’ve seen other communities offer ways to encourage dining and drinking at local places. One of the ways they’ve done this was by making it fun, such as a game of Bingo. We want to combine our love of the city, its food and drink with prizes for you to explore and support Omaha. We are excited to partner with Keep Local Alive – Omaha to bring this fun way to support Omaha’s great local eateries and bars.
Who is Keep Local Alive – Omaha?
The Keep Local Alive movement started as a way to impact local independent businesses in communities nationally. They engage volunteers, whom they call ambassadors, to help identify and support local businesses through a targeted “boost” effort. These targets are identified because of a need for additional support and attention. During the “boost” effort, ambassadors encourage others to support the business with their dollars through social media posts, reviews and their own purchases. Learn more here. We encourage you to like their FB page and join the FB group.
What is Omaha Loves Local Food/Drink Bingo?
The Omaha Loves Local Food/Drink Bingo offers a chance to not only continue to support local restaurants but also possibly broaden your experiences. It also represents an opportunity to try a new restaurant or a chance to get out to locations outside of your normal stomping grounds.
Local foodies and the culinary curious can earn entries for prizes with every Bingo they complete on their card. You can find the details and rules below.
The concept is simple. Download or print a Restaurant Bingo card and fill in five spaces in a row at local eateries. Options include “Ordered tacos from _____,” “Got a cocktail at _____” and “Chowed down on some pasta at _____.” Other general spaces make it even easier to score a Bingo with the likes of “Had a date night at _____” and “Treated myself at _____.” You can dine-in or carry out.
What places are eligible to get Bingo squares
Check out Supporting Omaha Restaurants for inspiration of places to order from in order to complete your Bingo squares. All local places (the eatery must be a local one or if part of a chain, it must be headquatered in Omaha, i.e. Little King) are eligible for credit for the square. Below are just some links to Oh My!
