Visit Omaha’s Instagram Takeover

We are taking over Omaha! Visit Omaha is handing us the reigns to show you the city through our eyes (or rather lens) on their Visit Omaha Instagram account this weekend, April 9-10.

Disclaimer: Thanks to Visit Omaha for providing restaurant gift cards for our tour of the city.

We have always been photo junkies. We love capturing the moments and our memories in pictures. One of our favorite social media channels lately is Instagram. We love sharing special moments with our audience and sharing experiences.

Now, when you picture Omaha, you may think of our “world famous” zoo, the Old Market, or perhaps the College World Series. We will be showing you a few different areas of the city that you may not have seen, whether you live here or not. From North, South, and a little farther out in West Omaha, we’ll explore history, nature, shopping and, of course, food.

We probably won’t be having a Reuben this time around, but the sandwich sure looks good, doesn’t it? We’ll share things that perhaps you didn’t know about Omaha. For instance, did you know that the Reuben was first served here in Omaha?

The hashtag used by Visit Omaha is #OmahaWeekend. Now, in speaking with Visit Omaha, they indicated that this is the one that they encourage everyone to tag their pictures or tweets with on social media. I inquired, “but what if it isn’t the weekend?” Their response, when you are out and about in Omaha, you can get into a weekend frame of mind any day of the week.

This is certainly the way we felt when we went to the opening night of “Kinky Boots” on a Tuesday. The Omaha Orpheum brings in amazing shows and acts throughout the year.

Excited to see Kinky Boots tonight at the Orpheum! #Broadway #midwest #kinkybootsomaha #Omaha @visitomaha #musical
