Cape Girardeau Holiday Inn Express is a comfortable stay
We prefer to stay at hotel chains we are comfortable with. During our travels, we have come to rely on specific chains as our go-to choices. Holiday Inn Express is one of those chains.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express during our stay in Cape Girardeau. We were not disappointed. The hotel was clean, the staff was professional and friendly, and the surrounding area provided dining and shopping options.
The hotel is located just off Interstate 55. You can’t tell as the traffic is not loud in the area.
Our room had a queen bed. The bed was quite comfortable and made for a good night’s rest following a couple of busy, busy days on the go.
The room had a refrigerator, sink, coffeemaker and microwave. So, we were able to keep drinks cold and had a place for our leftovers from dinner.
The work space was excellent. I always upload photos the day I shoot them. I save them on the desktop of my computer, as well as to an external hard drive. The desk had several outlets, so I was able to plug in everything I needed and then some. I had the laptop plugged in and both our phones for charging. There were still outlets available. The desk was spacious. The chair was comfortable.
Breakfast at the hotel was fun. Fun? Yep, we got to play with a pancake maker. Ok, actually you push the button and within two minutes two gigantic pancakes roll out and fall on to your plate. They tasted pretty good, too.
The breakfast buffet offered several choices for guests. I don’t normally eat biscuits and gravy, but it seems when in southern areas, I do. Something about how they spice the gravy, I think. The biscuits and gravy were restaurant quality (translates to – as Andy Griffith would said – mmmmm mmmmm, good!). They offer fruit, toast, bagels, oatmeal, as well as other breakfast items.
The lobby was attractive. It had comfortable chairs and a sofa. The front desk was nearby. The staff, again, was professional and friendly. They gave us a nice fruit and snack package upon check-in. it was very nice of them.
The hotel has a nice selection of activity centers – fitness center, indoor swimming pool and a small arcade.
We recommend the Holiday Inn Express if in Cape Girardeau. You will not be disappointed.
