Harlem Globetrotters returning to Lincoln this spring
As a kid, I loved the Harlem Globetrotters. Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neal. They were the stars of my youth as the Globetrotters consistently beat the hapless Washington Generals.
The Globetrotters have played more than 20,000 games in more than 100 countries since they were founded 90 years ago. The predominately African-American players have been dubbed the clown princes of basketball as they barnstorm the world, entertaining millions of people through the years.
The 2016 version of the Globetrotters will visit Lincoln (NE) as they take the court against the Generals on April 9th. It’s a Saturday, and should be a perfect day to fill Pinnacle Bank Arena. The team attracted about 10,000 people last year at the Pinnacle (us, included).
We’re looking forward to checking out the performance this year, which will be the third time we’ve seen them. The Globetrotters are fun to watch any chance you get to see them.
