Holiday Inn Riverfront is nice choice for downtown St. Joseph
St. Joseph’s Holiday Inn Riverfront gives visitors quick access to downtown locations and the riverfront for recreational opportunities.
The hotel, which is located near the civic center/arena is a nice choice for a stay in St. Joe. The lobby is spacious and well decorated. The staff is friendly and professional.
Our room had a nice view of the downtown area. It was clean and comfortable. The only recommendation we would offer is that more outlets or outlet stations need to be added to rooms. With all the technology people bring on trips – phones, laptops, iPads, cameras, etc. – the more charging options, always the better. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn.
We had dinner at the hotel’s 36th Street diner. We each had the pretzel club sandwich and fries. It had slices of applewood smoked ham, turkey breast and peppered bacon between a toasted pretzel roll with tomatoes, lettuce, Cheddar and Swiss cheese topped with aioli. The food was excellent. The service was pretty good. Our server checked on us regularly and kept our drinks topped off.
The hotel has the regular amenities, such as an indoor pool, fitness center and business center. The swim area was laid out well. It was spacious. The hot tub was near the front and separated by a small wall from the swimming pool, so people could have a sense of some privacy as they relaxed in the whirlpool. The swimming pool looked inviting and fun.
Parking is located across the street from the hotel, with easy access.
We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Riverfront. I liked the fact that is off the interstate, so you do not have the traffic or crowd concerns. We’d recommend it for a stay. I plan to stay there on future visits.
