Sneak peek at The Container Store Omaha opening this weekend

The Container Store
Omaha’s Westroads Mall is home to a new The Container Store franchise. The store opens its doors Saturday.

Need something to store a piece of jewelry or maybe a closet full of clothes? Well, I have just the store for you. Omaha is now home to The Container Store. The store opens at Omaha’s Westroads Mall Oct. 22nd. I got a sneak peek into The Container Store Thursday before its grand opening. To say I can’t wait to go back and actually start shopping is putting it mildly. You’ll want to check it out for several reasons.

The Container Store offers about 11,000 products for customers. They vary in size and price. You can pick something up for as little as 49 cents or buy a customized closet scheme for a slightly higher price (LOL). Interested in something to store your little black dress accessories and jewelry? They have it.

The Dallas-based company has about 80 franchises around the United States.

The store is set up in 16 lifestyle sections, including travel, gift packaging and kitchen. It has an easy flow to it. Banners at the top of each aisle help the identify the type of containers.

As we took a tour of the store, I couldn’t help but make a mental list of everything that I needed a solution for in my life (and I have many). The TSA-approved section jumped out at me immediately. Since Tim and I travel a lot – and our daughters, as well – the options for storing items from toiletries to chargers and cords would be great purchases and gift ideas. They have a great selection of bottles and packing cubes. The section could make future trips that much more convenient for packing.

With the holiday season right around the corner, The Container Store has some great gift ideas, accessories and containers.

One neat thing about The Container Store is its support for community organizations. The Container Store will donate 10 percent of all sales to its non-profit partner, the Omaha Children’s Museum. The store will also have prize giveaways throughout the weekend. It should be a fun time.

I’ve already told Tim we’re making a weekend trip to the store. I have my list ready, unless I find some “shiny objects,” which he jokes I often do. Maybe we’ll see you there.
