Have you heard of the newest thing to hit Omaha? “Escape Rooms” are opening across the country. Entrap Games is the newest “Escape” room concept to open in Omaha. I’d seen the concept before, in the movie series “Saw,” TV’s “The Big Bang Theory” (one of my favorite shows) and most recently on an episode of “The Bachelorette.”

You and a few of your friends find yourself locked in a room that looks innocent enough at first glance. Your goal is to find and figure out the clues in 60 minutes. Do you have the skills to make it out from an Entrap Games room?

A couple of other local bloggers, Nicole of Mom Saves Money and Lisa of Midwest Mammas and I took on the challenge of the “Off Limits” room at Entrap Games. The experience started with our host introducing us to some mind-indulging puzzles and a card trick or two. This got us in a playful spirit and got us in the right mindset to take on the challenge about to befall us.

Once we entered the room, we were then given our scenario to set up the scene and the rules of play. It truly is a game. We only had a few moments to develop our strategy before the clock started counting down. We had no idea what to expect before we entered that room.  Each move we took led us to another path or stumped us.

Ever feel like you’re being watched?  Well, here, you truly are. During the game, your host will ensure that you are not only having a good time, but that you aren’t beating your head against the wall for too long. They don’t make it easy while ensuring that you are progressing as much as possible through the game.

Well, we know that we are three intelligent women, but we were one clue short of making it out of the room in the 60 minutes. One thing we found out is that there is more than one way to figure out the same room.
