Our third blogging birthday celebration continues with a look back to another favorite Midwest destination – St. Louis MO. Missouri is known as the “Show Me” state, and St. Louis has a lot to show off. We’ve visited St. Louis several times over the years, with our latest trip being this past February. We visited many sites and attractions that we had not seen before.
The St. Louis Cardinals are making another run for the World Series this postseason. If the Cardinals make it to the Series, it will be their 20th appearance. We were excited to go on a tour of Busch stadium when we were there in February. It was a great tour regardless of the fact that there was snow on the field itself.
In the outfield of Busch Stadium you can see that iconic symbol that is St. Louis, the Gateway Arch. Going to the top of the arch is on our list every time we visit the city. It is an architectural marvel.
One new attraction that we visited on this trip was City Museum . The only way I can think to describe this place is an industrial playground for all ages, plus much more.
One thing that we love about St. Louis is the fact that there are so many attractions that are low cost or free. In fact, outside of Washington D.C., St. Louis has the most FREE attractions (museums, parks, etc.) in the U. S. In Forest Park for example contains the St. Louis Zoo (there is a fee for parking, but admission is free), Missouri History Museum, and St. Louis Art Museum. Of course we can’t forget the Budweiser Brewery Tour with not only getting to taste their on tap products but also check out their famous Clydesdale horses.
